Praelexis partnered with a security and cash management services company to develop a predictive machine learning solution. The project successfully proved the viability of the company's data, delivering substantial financial savings and reducing operational risks.
The project focused on cash float optimisation. By examining historical seasonal and holiday patterns, a prototype was developed for a sample cash centre to forecast inbound and outbound note flows and recommend optimal float management strategies.
Without accurate forecasting, the company risked recycling cash ineffectively, resulting in the continuous purchase of new cash, excessive cash float levels, and an increased number of high-risk cash-in-transit trips.
